The locals are agitated and not due to alcohol or drugs. Overly aggressive behaviour, sudden lethargy or even aimless wandering as if following an unheard voice. There is a nearby hospital that is overwhelmed with these strange cases. I have also confirmed that the aggressive behaviours have no basis
This must be what LILITH has sent us here for
But could this really be the work of a Kaiju? Perhaps the cause may be an energy life form, such as a heliobus. They are sapient incorporeal beings that are capable of possessing and manipulating humans.
They're wandering off into the desert, too. No one can keep up with them, and they certainly aren't coming back -- though you'll find there's some people who are more than happy to take care of their money while they're gone
But are they capable of doing it to this many? There doesn't seem to be any connection between the people that go missing and wandering off, so maybe instead of a great many heliobi we're just dealing with something that can control and influence multiple people at once
No but I do not believe we have any natural immunities to its abilities due to our otherworldly status, so I wanted to ensure you have not been affected
I just wanted to make sure you were okay
[ A surprisingly honest admission that he wouldn't normally make sober, and both of them know that. Ratio can't bring himself to care though. He's been worried about Aventurine ever since they stepped into Las Vegas and the alcohol has loosened his lips (or fingers in this case) enough for him to voice it. ]
[ It doesn't take longer than ten minutes for Ratio to arrive at the hotel. He's tipsy, yes, but not noticeably inebriated. As he enters the lobby, his eyes scan for Aventurine. Again, he wishes the gambler was wearing his ostentatious outfit, it would be so much easier to spot him... ]

[ An unfortunate truth, but not one they can turn a blind eye to. ]
That is also a possibility, and I doubt we are immune to its influences as well
Gambler, have you noticed any odd thoughts or compulsions affecting your behaviour?

Not since arriving with the Harmony influence wiped clean. Why, have you?
